Currently working on Fritz Kalkbrenner’s new album

In 2009, I recorded some guitar and bass lines for 3 tracks of Fritz Kalkbrenner’s album Here today gone tomorrow. The album got released one year ago and was a success with a couple of singles getting quite a lot of radio airplay. A second album will be released in 2012 and I have been hired again to work on the project. It looks like my guitar and my bass should be featured on every track this time and we have just begun with a first 3-days session in the studio. I will keep you posted about this new project.

“Bruxelles” – reaching rock music the other way

I haven’t released any guitar track since 2009 and there are two reasons for this. The first one is that “classical” composition and solo-gigs took most of my time, the second one is that I don’t believe in instrumental-rock anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I still do love guitar and rock and am very proud of every song I made but I had to find a way to make further songs that would be more personal, a way that would be closer to my work in the field of “classical” composition.

Bruxelles is basically a piece of experimental music I composed for Treffpunkte (see the composer page) and that I performed for the festival Ankunft: Neue Musik, I took a chance on trying to do something new that would suit me as a guitarist AND as a composer and hope you will like it. You can listen to the studio recording in the guitarist.
