Hydroglisseur are back on the trail of new unknown sound species for an upcoming EP. “Only the Brave” is a foretaste of what Hydroglisseur might sound like in 2016.
My very dear friend and fellow composer Birke J. Bertelsmeier recorded my piano piece “You saw me die every Night”, composed in 2014 for the project Glassworlds. Merci beaucoup Birke.
“Le Dilemme” was composed in 2009 and expresses the doubts of a composer torn between his wish to be seen as “avant-garde” and his strong bond to tradition. This is the premiere by French violist Chloé Parisot on the 20th of December 2015 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig.
My work for music and photography “Agnes (in Redemption)” will be exhibited from the 1st December 2015 until the 30th of January 2016 in the Galerie Christine Knauber in Berlin. The public opening is tonight from 6 pm on.

Ein Panorama der aktuellen Improvisationsszene
Music improvisation is not ONLY about abstract free form jazz and random interactive noise experimentation, it can also be sweet to your ears. TimeGeist puts a great bill together showing a wide spectrum of today’s improvisation, with several generations of musicians embracing different tactical approaches:
SJJL: Sven-Åke Johansson (SE)/Justin Lépany (FR) – drums & electric guitar
Werner Dafeldecker (AT) – double bass
Birke Bertelsmeier (DE) – spinet
Hydroglisseur: Christoph Enzel (DE)/Justin Lépany (FR) – baritone saxophone & electric guitar
Julia Reidy (AU) – 12-string acoustic guitar

12th of November 2015 – Concert 20:30 (Doors 20:00)
WestGermany, Skalitzerstr. 133, 10999 Berlin
Entirely dedicated to spherical improvisation, SJJL is the meeting of European free jazz cult figure Sven-Åke Johansson on the drums and Justin Lépany on psychedelic guitar. Both infuriated and intrigued, Mr. Johansson came and knocked at the door of Justin’s studio while the latter was recording “Agnes (in Redemption)” at full blast in the same building. A few days later the two jammed and SJJL was born. The première of the duet is on the 12th of November in Berlin during the first edition of Timegeist. More informations coming very soon.
